As subdivisions push into greenbelts across Bulverde, Boerne, Spring Branch, and outer New Braunfels, wildlife conflicts spike. Raccoons in attics, armadillos destroying lawns, skunks under decks, and opossums in crawlspaces — all need professional, legal handling.
Raccoons in the attic
Spring and early summer is denning season — a mother raccoon will tear into a soffit, gable vent, or roof return to give birth in the attic. Removal has to account for kits; sealing the entry before the kits are out is illegal and creates a dead-animal problem. We trap the female, remove and relocate kits where required, then seal and reinforce the entry with steel mesh.
Armadillos
The cone-shaped digging across your lawn and flower beds. Armadillos forage at night for grubs and earthworms. Live traps placed across active runways with funnel boards on each side are the most reliable removal method — bait rarely works. Long-term prevention is grub control to remove the food source.
Skunks and opossums
Both den under sheds, decks, and HVAC pads. We trap with species-appropriate live traps and exclude with hardware cloth dig barriers. Skunks need careful handling — covered traps, slow movement, and proper transport. Opossums are usually a one-and-done removal if the harborage is sealed properly.
Damage repair and decontamination
Wildlife leaves behind chewed wood, soiled insulation, parasites, and disease risk. After removal we coordinate insulation removal/replacement and an attic decontamination treatment when warranted. Sealing the entry without addressing what's been left behind is half the job.
What we don't do
We don't handle bats, venomous snakes, or large game — those need specialized licensing and are referred to a partnered wildlife specialist or Texas Parks & Wildlife.
Wildlife jobs are part trapping, part construction, part biology. Done right, the animal is gone and can't come back. Done wrong, you have an animal in the wall and a contractor bill in your future.
